John has been playing and performing since 1990 in a wide variety of acts, including leading his own band The Beauty Shop to international success and acclaim. He has been teaching professionally since 2012 and has helped hundreds of students reach their playing goals. John is fluent in most styles, particularly Rock, Pop, Country, Funk, and Jazz, on both guitar and bass guitar. He has a solid grasp of many advanced techniques, extensive knowledge of music theory, and the teaching skills to communicate them both. John aspires to be flexible as an instructor and tailors his lessons to the needs and interests of each student. From total beginners to established players, John see his role as assisting students to develop into the kind of player they wish to be.
